Diving In

There are a lot of ways to become involved in the life of Casa Linda United Methodist Church. Opportunities for ministry are everywhere, from our Second Saturday Spruce-Up at White Rock Lake to our weekly Wednesday night programs to our Sunday worship services. Here are a few suggestions if you're interested in getting involved at Casa Linda.

• Attend our worship services. This is normally the first step for anyone considering affiliating with a church. And, like our United Methodist ad campaigns say, "Our hearts, our minds, and our doors are always open." We'd love to meet you and want to help you in your journey toward becoming a faithful follower of Jesus Christ.

• Plug in to a Bible study group. We have several groups that meet each week, including a variety of Sunday school classes and Bible studies specifically for men and women. Also, occasional short-term studies are offered on specific topics.

• Find a place to serve. We have lots of opportunities that allow us to reach into our community with God's love. Every second Saturday of the month, we gather at White Rock Lake to help clean the area down by the Cultural Bath House. And every Wednesday night, our church is filled with the voices of children learning and playing. We offer ESL classes for our Spanish-speaking neighbors (child care is provided) and are planning GED courses for the future. And, if you're musically inclined, we're always looking for folks to enhance our worship services with their musical gifts.

• You can, of course, join our church if you're so inclined. You don't have to join to participate in anything we do, but membership does demonstrate commitment. If you're interested in joining Casa Linda, you can do so in a variety of ways. Just call the pastor for an appointment at 214.321.2601.
